I fuckin' love this show.

May '17
no, not the mid nineties black comedy with Cam Diaz n Ron Perlman, but the short prequel to Covenant directed by Ridley's son Luke Scott. Since the new Alien film opened here yesterday thought i may as well post it, even though anyone with any intrest in the franchise has probably already seen it. But for those who haven't, can Danny Mac go 5mins without a dick joke? let's find out...

Check this out, one of the "bitches" from that scene has been responding to comments, on a clip of that scene on YouTube. Look at the responses to the comments, down below the video. Her name is Diane Robin. Her most recent response that I can find is from just two months ago, so, maybe she would still respond, if one of us posted something.

There are quite a lot of names synonymous with old school Italian Horror and Exploitation. Fulci, Bava, Deodato, to name a few. Depending on your taste, and how ghoulish you might be, you probably favor one over all others. I appreciate many movies from all who contributed to this era. But I've got to admit, I've always been on the D'Amato bandwagon. One of his films in particular made an impression on me at an early age. At around 13 I rented a... Continue »

It seems that zombie movies are dime a dozen and offer little in the way of originality and imagination so it is always refreshing to see a zombie flick that attempts to bring new ideas into the exhausted sub-genre. Today, I am going to talk about a film that I seen three years ago and still haunts me to this day. I was bored and weary and I decided to watch, what I... Continue »

So 1978 is my answer every time someone asks what is the best single year in horror. I don't think it is even close really. Not only does it have 2 juggernauts one of which is my favorite horror film of all time it has several excellent to solid films as well.

Dawn of the Dead
Halloween
Grapes of Death
Martin
Long Weekend
Piranha
I Spit on Your Grave
Toolbox Murders
Alucarda
Magic
Invasion of the Body Snatchers
Blue Sunshine
Patrick
The Fury
Mountain of the Cannibal God

This is usually a thing when between countries, be it for language reasons or just because they thought their title would sound cooler, I guess. emoticon

Dawn of the Dead is Zombi, because Zombi 2 needed to start somewhere, right?

Army of Darkness should have been called The Medieval Dead, but I do believe it's known as Captain Supermarket somewhere...

Blood Shack has The Chooper

Phantasm was known as The Never Dead somewhere?

Halloween III was... Continue »

I was just thinking, one of the reasons that 976-EVIL doesn't quite work is that on some level, watching it, you sort of have to expect that Marty Palmer will turn out to be the main character. He's the investigator from Modern Miracles magazine, who shows up to investigate the rain of fish, but ends up investigating the evil Mark Dark and his company that runs 976-EVIL, along with some other scam 976 numbers.

On some level, watching the movie, I think it is easy to get a little torn and con... Continue »

Hitchhiking is just one of those things that was once common in America, but is now as dead as the Drive-In. It once seemed like a perfectly reasonable way of getting from point A to point B, but nowadays, hitchhiking is more something one might only attempt in the case of an emergency. An understandable change. It was only a matter of time, anyway. As the population grew, naturally, the number of killers and rapists would grow with it. Today... Continue »

I made my annual trip to the Frightmare convention in Dallas for Saturday. Got there early, got a few autographs, didn't stick around too long. Now, I'll be rambling about my experience this year, just as I always do. Continue »

Well, the first B&W outside the IMDb went pretty well. I gave an honest effort at winning for about a week there, but Beatnik once again got way ahead of everyone else in record time and made me lose motivation. So, fuck you, once again, Beatnik.

So, how 'bout it? What was your favorite FTV of the month? what was your least favorite? What was the black & whitest?

My favorite FTV was The Eyes Of My Mother (2016). Not saying much, though. That's the only one I liked a lot. As usual, I delved... Continue »

Sole Survivor predates Final Destination by 17 years and you can see it had an obvious influence on Final Destination although Sole Survivor is the more well made film of the two and it is the far more creepy. The movie focuses on a young woman who happens to be the only survivor of a tragic plane crash. Following after being discharged from the hospital, she begins getting the foreboding... Continue »

Holliston is a real town in Massachusetts, made famous by Adam Green. My mom actually worked there for a few years. Anyway, the guy who played one of my favorite characters from the 2004 hockey movie Miracle was also from Holliston, and apparently he killed himself a couple weeks ago. If you check Google News for Michael Mantenuto, you'll see some disturbing allegations that he "saw something" while serving in the armed forces, fighting ISIS in Iraq or Syria, and maybe that's what drove him t... Nobody will mourn the IMDb Horror Board like me, but what's happening is a very lucky break for this site, which has gone back and forth between almost dead and almost semi-active for nearly 3 years. It seems as though every time we get some people, they always wander off once this place picks up. There's other options, still, and always will be, but unfortunately, there will no longer be THE Horror Board to rely on. Maybe some of the other options are ok too, but I assure you none of them ha... Continue »

I don't know if I'll ever be capable of this, but I keep thinking of a couple of songs that it would be cool to adapt to Dune, in the form of music videos.

The first is Ah Leah, by Donnie Iris. Hmmm, which character from Dune could I possibly think would make a good subject (object?!?) for the that song... you guessed it: Alia. It even sounds like the song could be about her, in parts. It implies a sort of predestination, in the way it talks about the doomed relationship, which is certai... Continue »

I have gone back and forth on It Follows. For awhile I loved it, and I would even say I became obsessed with it. But, after thinking it over, I have also had times when I really hated it, because of the ending, and also because I suspect that the director didn't even mean anything by the movie, he was just trying to make us all think he was very deep and philosophical by throwing all kinds of images out there that seemed symbolic of something. Lately I have been giving it a chance again.

So, that was pretty cool. They had a midnight screening of ND at a theater not too far from where I live, so I went. They actually said it was the last 35 millimeter print of the movie left in North America! I have no idea if that's true, but that's what they said. So anyway, here are some of my thoughts.

I told the guy who sold me the ticket that, before the movie started, someone who works at the theater should stand in front of the audience and say "Boy, you people sure stay up late,"... Continue »

This is so hilarious to me. It's not like it's a new movie, so I don't get how people are unaware of it's content. I guess they just think it's about cute little bunnies... For fuck's sake, they even gave a warning at the beginning of the film before it began to air. It's like when parents who took their children to see Pan's Labyrinth were pissed off it wasn't a cutesy fairtale. Do some damn research people! emoticon

Anyone seen this? I don't think I ever saw it mentioned on the horror board. I just watched it on Blu-ray and thought it was off-beat and creepy, but the storyline didn't always work.

Here I am watching my first John Wayne movie, "Red River" (1948). That's right. I'm searching for some B&W movies, and there are plenty of westerns. What are your thoughts on this highly revered cowboy?

What are your favorite space movies, horror or not?

I'll throw out a few obvious ones:

FAVES:

Dark Star (1974) - John Carpenter's feature length debut is an eerie, spaced out comedy of sorts that capitolizes on a cheesy, yet creepily isolated sci-fi space mood.
Alien (1979) - The sci-fi slasher in space! Creepy story about people getting picked off one-by-one by an alien life force.
Aliens (1986) - James Cameron takes over the reigns to give us a more military/a... Continue »
