I think it was sicker than I was expecting, per se.
It probably didn't hurt that they kept the 1958 setting, as opposed to trying to make it contemporary.
My two cents.

The pink flamingos are the default background on this site, in honor of John Water's film of the same name, but I realize that it's a pretty fucking stupid background. If anyone didn't know it already, you can change your preferred background on the site's footer. Mine is Danielle Harris, because she's hot as fuck. I'll never get tired of looking at her.

This movie is far from perfect, but in some ways it really blows me away. I think the scarecrows are as creepy as you could possibly want them to be. The way their voices, speaking right into the minds of their victims, can be confused with the voices of the other soldiers, on the audio headsets, is also pretty freaky. Also, I enjoy a good old fashioned military horror movie now and then, like Dog Soldiers, Day of the Dead, etc.... good stuff.

I just watched Thunderbolt and Lightfoot for the first time, and it's a pretty damn good movie. Then again, is anything of his not good? He's pretty much the greatest man who ever lived.

Flowers is a abstract surreal horror film from Phil Stevens. Basically it's about six females waking up in the crawlspace underneath their killer's house. My perspective of the movie is it's the women remembering their lives and deaths. The audience gets a glimpse of both. Flowers also has no dialogue, but that in no way hinders the movie. "An american giallo" is the best possible description, and I was extremely pleased with this one.

Atmospheric and violent, this film traces the exploits of a med student who witnesses his sister's death
(as a child) at the start of the film.

This is apparently all he needed to go on a murderous rampage, but there's style to spare in this senseless
horror film filmed largely in my state (Texas).

Side Note: The ending is quite masterful, as subtle as it happens to be. 7/10 from me.

As far as the films of Paul Mossissey go, I only really love two of them. Flesh For Frankenstein and Blood For Dracula. These two mean spirited, 70's exploitation versions of the popular Horror tales include what is most likely the best performance by not only Udo Kier, but Joe Dallesandro as well. They're great. So I've never thought ghost were real I've seen some stuff I could never explain but never thought it was a ghost doing it thou.
To me most of this video looks like fake shit but some of it had me thinking what the hell is that.

There are, sadly, so few scenes in (relatively) modern cinema, in which white people prove that they black, by suddenly becoming Asian. Here is one of those scenes.

From 1969 to 1988, John Waters and Divine had collaborated on 6 filthy features. Towards the beginning of their career, they also made short films, such as Roman Candles, in which the tagline is "A triple projected trash epic". Oh egg man, where can I find those lost short films?

I can't wait to see this movie. I heard it made two people pass out and one person throw up. It looks like a good body horror film to me. Hopefully it comes out before the end of the year.

A goddamn legend, if there ever was one... Russ Meyer directed a LOT of sexploitation movies from the late 50s to late 70s, many of which were borderline porn at times, but still retained enough of a loose plot. However, the plots of his movies never mattered one bit, as they were just excuses for him to put voluptuous, big-breasted women on screen, coupled with random acts of violence and sexual exploits. Russ Meyer was a HUGE fan of HUGE breasts, and every single one of his movies features an abundance of great racks.

Surprisingly, his films are hard to find in the states, but I was fortunate enough to score a 19-movie set of his from the UK for only $40, and it's without a doubt the best dvd set of all time. I say this simply because I love tits, and I've never been big on full-blown porn, but that doesn't mean these movies aren't entertaining as fuck. Continue »
